The focus of this video series is building a website from scratch. In the approximately ten-minute videos I show you how to build a website as I show you how I created the original version of this website. Websitesinten.com, was created from scratch using WordPress, the OceanWP theme, the Elementor page builder, and a few additional plug-ins.
Using the steps in the videos below, you can build your own website. Customize and expand your new website as you learn more about using WordPress and the Elementor page builder plug in.

I log into my hosting account in this video and install WordPress on my new website using my new domain name. Next, I log into the WordPress dashboard and prepare it for use in building my website.
Install WordPress Theme and Plug-ins

The focus of this video is logging into the WordPress dashboard using wp-admin to log in directly. I also install the Elementor page-builder plug-in and a couple of plug-ins that are used with Elementor. Finally, I download and activate the OceanWP theme for WordPress–a popular theme that works well with Elementor. And, I install the Ocean Extra plug-in that is used with my chosen theme.

I create the home page for the new website in this video and also set it as the start page when someone types the website address in their browser. The Elementor page builder is introduced and I show how it is used to add and style content to the home page and website.

In this video, I create a new page by duplicating the home page, renaming it, and changing the content to become the “about” page. This saves a great deal of time since I won’t have to style the new page to match the rest of our website.

Header menus are the focus of this video as I add a menu to our custom header to link the pages of the website and to link externally to my YouTube playlist. I also update the social menu links in the header to include the actual link addresses.
